The Rummage Sale is Coming!

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church Women’s Rummage Sale is Friday and Saturday November 3 and 4!  View the Rummage Sale Flyer here.

The Rummage Sale is the biggest fundraising event of the year! We take your gently used donations in good (or better) condition and turn them into cash to support many different mission projects both inside our parish family and in the community at large. In the past we have supported St. Matthew’s EYC mission trips, Kairos, Camp McDowell, St. Matthews softball team, Sawyerville Day Camp and several diocesan charities. We have also supported many local charities including Inside Out Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, New Futures, and many more. In 2015 we netted $10,000 from this event alone!!

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK

The Rummage Sale is a week-long process with many ways to participate. The week leading up to the sale is spent receiving and sorting donated items. We need volunteers to make this happen! Just an hour or two of your time can make a difference; day and evening hours are available. There are also other ‘behind-the-scenes’ tasks that need to be done. Look for sign-up sheets in the Narthex. It’s true that many hands make light work!

Sunday, October 29th after the 5 p.m. service is our Kick Off dinner meeting. Receiving and sorting hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, October 30th through Thursday, November 2.

Cleanup begins at the close of the sale on Saturday, November 4th at 1 p.m.

DONATIONS  Donations may be dropped off daily at the temporary storage shed from 7am to dusk.  Sunday, October 29 through Thursday, November 2 donations should be brought into the church. We will not accept donations after 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 2.   We need our Parish family to donate clean brown paper grocery bags and clip hangers for pants and skirts.
